This lightning talk was presented at OpenStack Days CERN in May 2019. It gave an overview of the state of the art for HPC and NFV in the OpenStack Compute. The talk focused on three of the most important and complex NFV/HPC features in nova - CPU pinning, NUMA awareness and real-time - and detailed what they were, why they existed, and how we were trying to make them better.
